Hatsuuma Daikondaki at SANZENIN

Hello everyone.
It has been super cold in Japan for a couple of days.
Now I know that you need something to warm you up!

There is an event which helps everybody who pray there to have 'GOOD LUCK'!
They will serve cooked DAIKON (Japanese radish) for all the prayers. It is believed that could help people for good year, protection from evil, and good luck for the year.

Hana touro in Arashiyama

Hello everyone!
It is getting really cold in Kyoto!
Have you been to see any really nice fall foliage?

Here is one of the great event in Kyoto for winter!
Hanatorou is a special illumination event. During the period, some temples have a special night opening for public. Particular paths and road will be decorated with lights and lantern.

Time period: December 9th - December 18th, 2011
Hours: 17:00- 20:30

Access: JR sagano line from Kyoto station. about 16minutes.

October 4th Tuesday ☆ festival info

October 4th Tuesday, ZUIKI maturi(festival) is on at Kitano Tenmangu-shrine. (北野天満宮)
The portable shrine decorated by zuiki(canes of yam potatoes) and other different dried vegetables. This is the historical ritual for agricultural fertility.

They are paraded through the Kitano Tenmangu-shrine area from 13:00.
Also it is known as the good occasion to see Geisha because they are supposed to attend for this Shinto ritual.

POTTERY FESTIVAL -August 7th to 10th-

Potterry Festival at the cha-wan slope (pottery slope)　in the kiyomize temple area, is held every august in Kyoto.
More than 500stores will be gathered from all area of Japan.
